Antennae Galaxies (NGC 4038 & 4039)

Located in the constellation Corvus, the two spiral galaxies are being drawn together by gravity. Their interaction started just a few hundred million years ago, making the Antennae Galaxies not only the nearest, but also the youngest examples of a pair of colliding galaxies. This photo was enhanced and cropped a little. Click here for the original.
