Spiral galaxy M66 (the 66th object on Charles Messier's list) is a member of the Leo Trio, a group of three interacting spiral galaxies about 35 million light years away. The group also includes M65 and NGC 3628.
The three galaxies are posing for us at different angles: M66 is seen face-on, M65 is partly edge-on, and NGC 3628 is edge-on, displaying its prominent dust lane. NGC 3628 is also known as the "Hamburger Galaxy" but personally I think it looks more like a taco.
NGC 3628 is slightly larger than the Milky Way, M65 and M66 are smaller. In this wide field view, M65 is at center, M66 at left and NGC 3628 at top.
