M16 Eagle Nebula Pillars of Creation protrude from the wall of a vast cloud of molecular hydrogen, like stalagmites rising above the floor of a cavern. Inside the gaseous towers, which are light-years long, the interstellar gas is dense enough to collapse under its own weight, forming young stars that continue to grow as they accumulate more and more mass from their surroundings.
Always a great one. Some don't like the name "Eagle", because they can't see it. I've always saw it plainly. But I still prefer the late Robert Burnham's "Star Queen"....out of respect for the great astronomer he was.

I see something greater then just the eagle...I see the Hand of God
1 First God made heaven & earth 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.4 And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. 5
