Eagle Nebula in Ha light

The Eagle Nebula is so named because of its obvious resemblance to the raptor of that name. The highlight of this emission nebula is the area called the 'Pillars of Creation'. It is a region of stellar formation, whose dark areas are believed to harbor protostars. This image was made in hydrogen alpha light.
