I was down loading my images of the Rosette nebula and reading up on the nebula. I found out that the nebula's NGC number was not NGC 2244 but it is NGC 2237 & it's part of a H II region.
This is a very complex of the Rosette nebula & it is also made up of NGC 2238, NGC 2239, & NGC 2246 is also a H II region of an Emission Nebula.
Also NGC 2244 is a Open Cluster that is associated with the Rosette nebula. The cluster is in the heart or the nebula & that is why it is used as the main NGC number. Also there is more in this complex
is dark nebulas & are name NGC2244-1, -2, -4, -5, -7, -8, -9, -10, -11, -12, -13, -14, -15, -16, -17, -18, -19, -20, -21, -22. All of the Emission Nebula's & Open Clusters & Dark Nebula gives us the look of a
flower.
The Rosette Nebula is in the Constellation of Monoceros, in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy at about 4,700 light years away from Earth. The size of this complex is 125 light years in diameter.
