October 16 2009 Cosmic Interloper visits Orion Nebula Complex - Races Running Man

This image captures the Comet 217/P LINEAR racing the Running Man Nebula as seen from my SkyShed POD on the morning of 27 Sept. 2009. Image captured using EQ-6 Pro mount with AstroTech AT-66 refractor piggybacked on Meade 10" LX200. QSI 583wsg camera was mounted to AT-66 at f/6.6. Mount driven by EQ-MOD while image was acquired, calibrated, aligned combined and DDPd using MaxIm DL. Meade DSI inserted into QSI camera autoguided using PHD autoguider. Image post processed in Photoshop CS2 using Wodaski's Zone Method and Croman's RC Astro Tools. Total time 200-minutes with L80. R40, G40, B40.
