Starry Lagoon

I took this long expousure in last 12 March, 2010, in the Albufeira Lagoon ( Lagoa de Albufeira ) A quiet place, side by side with the Atlantic Ocean, about 25 Km from Lisbon, Portugal. To record the motion of the stars, I registered with my Canon 50D, 159 images, each one of 30 seconds. The photographs are a total exposure time of 80 minutes, having started at 22:26 and ended at 23:56.
In the image we can enjoy the Path of many stars like Procyon, Aldebaran, M45 The Pleiades, Sirius, Betelgeuse and Rigel, and even the Orion Nebula M42, but what I highlight in the image, are the colors of the tracks reflected in the water of the Lagoon. With the slight movement of water, the trail of the brightest stars like Sirius, stayed blurred, producing more saturated colors, showing us the true color of each star, due to their type and temperture. The white blue stars like Sirius, are hotter, and can have temperatures about 25.000 degrees K.
