Espichel Startrails

The image was made in the Cabo Espichel (lit. Cape Espichel)that is a cape located to the west of Sesimbra, Portugal, about 40Km south of Lisbon. The place has a breathtaking views of its cliffs,168 meters high and facing the Atlantic Ocean. Originally served as a place defensive territory. In the eighteenth century stood in their area a sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of the Cape, that the legend came to an elderly couple in this place in the year 1410. It was the first place to set up a beacon to illuminate the coastline known as the British 'Costas Negras' in the year 1790.In front of the sanctuary we have an old great cruise, that is broken. In the image we can enjoy the path of many stars from known constelations, like Canis Minor and Major, Gemini, Auriga.. as well the planet Mars near the center above of the image.
