Mare Imbrium Lunar Area


One of my favourite zones on the Moon: area of Mare Imbrium comprising Plato on top center near Alpes Mountains and Vallis Alpes. In the center (from top to bottom) are shown Cassini, Aristillus, Archimedes and Autolycus craters. Below bottom left are shown Eratosthenes crater and Apeninnus mountains.

Telescope: Guan-Sheng GS600 Newtonian 200mm f/4 at f/14 (Barlow 3,5X)

Two images extracted from AVI videos of 1 minute each, stacked and processed with AviStack2 and post-processed with Photoshop CS4. Composite image compiled with iMerge.
